Tumaini School More About Giraffe Project DONATE!! TOTAL RAISED TO DATE : £909! |
Kristy Beaver has completed her Challenge of trekking across the Atlas Mountains with
From Kristy: "That was the most amazing trip ever! It took us 7 hours to trek to the refuge and another 5 to get to the summit! It was the hardest thing I've ever done. I think it's because it was constantly steep up hill - there was absolutely no flat ground! It was totally worth it though. It was such an achievement, all 8 of us made it to the top even though some of the group suffered from altitude sickness. The views were stunning! Our guide was lovely but didn't speak much English. The trek back down from the summit was hard because there was so much scree we just slipped over all the time! Then we had to go through snow and mum kept falling over. So our guide helped her down and I fell down a lot too! But we had a lot of laughs and such a wonderful experience!" Her goal: £1,000 to equip a classroom in the new building for Tumaini School! It's not too late to donate!
Kristy introduces herself: I originally come from the seaside town of Minehead, Somerset and moved to Bath in 2004 to attend Bath Spa University. I did a three year Education Studies degree and graduated with a BA(Hons) in July 2007. I then did a Primary PGCE for a year and became a qualified teacher in July 2008. I stayed in Bath with my boyfriend because I fell in love with the gorgeous sights of the city.
