When 4 friends in Belgium learned that the girls at Enna School sometimes had to fetch water from the polluted Nairobi River, they decided to raise the money to drill a bore hole. Now there is water in abundance, supplying not only Enna, but also a primary school of 950 children, another girls school, an orphanage and the people of the surrounding villages.
The Headmaster of the Primary school told us that his pupils were healthier and doing better in their academics as a direct result of having clean water, as well as not having to miss class as they spent hours fetching it each day from the river.
